RoboCup 2021 Worldwide was a fully virtual event, held from June 22 to 28, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges of remote participation, teams from around the world competed in various leagues, showcasing their advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence. The event featured live-streamed competitions, pre-recorded demonstrations, and online technical interviews, ensuring a fair and engaging experience. RoboCupJunior leagues adapted by using simulation-based challenges and remote robot operation, while Major Leagues leveraged cloud-based environments and virtual matches. The event maintained RoboCup’s spirit of innovation, collaboration, and education, allowing participants to continue advancing robotics research and development despite the global restrictions.
